My Very First Ceremony!

davidelder9

On Saturday 11 June 2022 at 1.30pm I delivered my very first ceremony through in Drumchapel, Glasgow!

Mum and Dad, Louise and David, had done their lovely wee daughter, Daisy, proud with a beautifully decorated venue, and the Guide Parents, Laura and Stewart did a great job in supporting them.

Going into a room with 100 guests seemed a wee bit daunting beforehand, but once I got there, met all the family, and sorted out what was happening with music, lights, where we are all going to stand, setting out the items we needed for the ceremony, it all went really well and I couldn't have been more pleased!

I don't think I stopped chatting all the way home in the car. My poor hubby, Simon, who had come over with me for moral support and then taken our dog Nova for a walk whilst I was in "celebranting", got the full story about 5 times as we drove home.

Thanks so much to Louise and David for trusting me with their naming ceremony, and thanks also to all of the family and friends who gave me lovely comments of thanks afterwards. It was a privilege and a complete joy to be the celebrant for Daisy's Naming Day.

I'm already looking forward to the next ceremony...
